Many would-be buyers and sellers start their agent searches online, and often visit real estate professionals' social media pages as part of the effort. Agents need to think about their social "hook" for new clients.

One of the easiest ways to come off as an ideal agent for shoppers and sellers alike is by being helpful, according to Leads Bridge. After all, if people are going to be relying on their agents for sage advice, it doesn't hurt to give some of that wisdom away for free.

Giving people some basic information through a social account about what it means to get into the market and the ways they can maximize their investment in both time and money helps establish them as a local expert. Whether that means blog posts, explainer videos, live Q&A sessions or some other option, agents should look for something that's going to resonate.

In addition to simply being a little more interactive, it's also helpful to avoid talking only about yourself or your listings, according to Hubspot. Using the space to also establish yourself as a member of the community who cares about its goings on - like talking about the championship Little League team or showing off your volunteer efforts at a recent town event - will help people feel like there's a real person behind the account.

One of the keys to being good on social media is doing a little more to be yourself and have fun on the site. You might get more out of that than you think.
